Improve Your Blogs SEO and Traffic in 8 Steps
One of the most important things when it comes to blogging is search engine optimization. Without it your blog is not going to go very far in the search engines which means your traffic is going to be drastically reduced because of it.

The following 8 SEO suggestions can and will help you place better in the search engines and as a result will bring you that extra traffic you are craving.

1) Your Main Keywords in The Posts Title.
This is a must in SEO and already setup with most blogging platforms. As you can see in the browser this post is titled `Improve Your Blogs SEO in 8 Steps - General Marketing Blog`

2) SEO Blog Categories.
It is important that you put your keywords in your categories Title.
If your post is relevant to more than one category on your blog then post it to multiple categories this will increase your search rankings with more keywords.

3) RSS Feed Your Blog.
Sign up to FeedBurner and place a link on your blog for people to receive your RSS feeds..

4) RSS to email.
Be sure to offer an email subscription service as well 40% of RSS subscribers prefer the email version.

5) Pinging Blog Services.
Each time you post on your blog be sure to Ping the many blog search engines and Feed syndicate’s. Most blogging platforms will offer you the option to do this automatically.

6) Commenting On Other Blogs.
Posting comments on other blogs will increase your search engine rankings as well. Post under your own name or your blogs name, Do Not use keywords and do not leave spammy comments as these will just be deleted.

7) Submit to Web Directories.
Submitting your blog to web directories is another way of increasing your ranking. Their are hundreds of free and paid web directories you can use. Here is one to get you started the Seo Web Directory.

8) Use of track backs
When ever you get the opportunity to mention another blog post that some one has written be sure to link to it. This will leave the blog owner a track back and also a link from that blog back to your own. This will help with search engines and will also get you some traffic direct from their blog.

9) Quality Content.
My final suggestion is no matter how well you optimize your blog and no matter how many back links you get their is no substitute for Quality Content so try to post every day with great content and the search engine spiders will come.
