Backlinks or Inbound Links are links that are directed towards your website and are the building blocks to serious Investigate Engine Improvement. The number of backlinks a website has is a sainted indicator of its popularity or importance with explore engines. Search engines, namely Google Relinquish solon accomplishment to websites that know a larger Ware of character backlinks and consider those websites more relevant in a search query.
It is not enough to just have a high number of inbound links; they need to be quality links. For seek engines to determine the quality of inbound links the content of the site is critiqued. The content of the websites you have inbound links with needs to be relevant to your site. The more relevant the inbound links are to your site helps determine the quality of the links. For example if your site is hotel related than linking to a site about SEO Services is not relevant and is therefore not a quality link.
It is very easy to get a higher-ranking using backlinks than it is to influence search engines with external backlinks from other sites, which is why backlinks matter so much in a search engines algorithm system. Recently search engines criteria for quality inbound backlinks has gotten harder. This is due to people using deceptive tactics like hidden links or automatically generated pages whose entire purpose is to generate inbound links to other webpages.
By having quality backlinks you are attracting visitors to your site. You can’t just build a website and expect that people are going to find you without being pointed in the right direction. People previously used Reciprocal Linking to achieve this.
Reciprocal Links were discussed in a recent Google update as one of the targets for its latest filters. In order to boost website rankings through the number of inbound links, webmasters had agreed upon Reciprocal Link Exchanges. This link exchange occurs when one webmaster puts a link on their website to point to another webmasters website. Many of these were not relevant links and were just disregarded by search engines. The inbound links were not counted but the outbound links were still counted which lowered the relevancy score of many websites and caused them to drop off the Google map.
If you are interested in engaging in effective search engine optimization techniques, you do need to have an appreciation of the importance of backlinks. Indeed, when it comes to an effective SEO strategy, backlinks can be a crucial element of an overall campaign of website.
Guides for links:
1. Bad lineament inbound links can’t decrease your page rank but, if you link to a bad Quality web site it will have a bad effect on your site ranking.
Before linking to a website:
1- Browse the site carefully to find out that is a legal site and don’t do illegal things.
2- Inactivity to comprehend out whether it is indexed by operation engines or not. Look the URL of the website to see it is indexed or not.
2. You can boost your situation by linking to high quality sites.
Some search engines consider and analyze your outbound link such as inbound links. May be outbound link is not as effective as inbound links but, those can improve your situation.
Many webmasters are afraid to link to other websites. They think less outbound links is better than more but it is dependant upon the sites that you link to. Link to high quality sites makes your site better look like a more natural part of the web in Search Engines.
Other advantages:
1- With linking to high quality sites your visitors can obtain more info about that topic and so many of them don’t forget where they came from.
2- Webmasters you link to them may link back to you and also your new and old visitors may link to you because of good content and good outbound resource links.
The End of this article: when you want to link to a high quality site website feel relaxed to link to it but, don’t just Stuff your page with outbound links. Consider every thing when using the space on your site.

Whether it be a business, its product or service or something completely different, everyone of all ages are turning to the web as a method of getting their message out there. With the popularity of this marketing medium increasing and the number of websites always growing, it is obvious that everyone wants to appear at the top of Google's search engine rankings. Achieving such a task is never an easy feat, however with a bit of perseverance, one can definitely increase their chances of reaching that glorious first page result. Given that there are a heap of websites out there who are on the first page, what is their secret? It is a little industry term called "SEO" and it stands for Search Engine Optimisation. SEO basically consists of the customisation of your website, its content and its internal and external links to assist in the overall indexing and ranking of your website in popular search engines. There are many contributing factors that are used in determining a website's ranking and every search engine is different. This makes trying to optimise your site for Google, Yahoo, Live and the many others quite a pain staking task. As most of us are aware, Google is currently the most popular search engine for the majority of Internet users. As such, it is only normal that we'd want to focus our sights on achieving a higher ranking within Google first with a hope that the rest will follow. To do this, we must start a journey that could potentially take months before we start seeing any real change, however we have to start somewhere. Our journey begins by defining some of the key contributing factors that Google uses to determine a website and webpage's ranking within its results. These factors range from keyword use to manipulating internal and external links and the list goes on. To get you started, we have listed the top twenty factors that you should focus on in order to help get your website that little bit closer to the top of the search engine results listing. Keyword Use Factors The following components relate to the use of the user's search query terms in determining the rank of a particular page. 1. Keyword Use in Title Tag - Placing the targeted search term or phrase in the title tag of the web page's HTML header 2. Keyword Use in Body Text - Using the targeted search term in the visible, HTML text of the page 3. Relationship of Body Text Content to Keywords - Topical relevance of text on the page compared to targeted keywords 4. Keyword Use in H1 Tag - Creating an H1 tag with the targeted search term/phrase 5. Keyword Use in Domain Name & Page URL - Including the targeted term/phrase in the registered domain name, i.e. keyword.com plus target terms in the webpage URL, i.e. seomoz.org/keyword-phrase. Page Attributes The following elements comprise how the Google interprets specific data about a webpage independent of keywords. 6. Link Popularity within the Site's Internal Link Structure - Refers to the number and importance of internal links pointing to the target page 7. Quality/Relevance of Links to External Sites/Pages - Do links on the page point to high quality, topically-related pages? 8. Age of Document - Older pages may be perceived as more authoritative while newer pages may be more temporally relevant 9. Amount of Indexable Text Content - Refers to the literal quantity of visible HTML text on a page 10. Quality of the Document Content (as measured algorithmically) - Assuming search engines can use text, visual or other analysis methods to determine the validity and value of content, this metric would provide some level of rating Site/Domain Attributes The factors below contribute to Google's rankings based on the site/domain on which a page resides. 11. Global Link Popularity of Site - The overall link weight/authority as measured by links from any and all sites across the web (both link quality and quantity) 12. Age of Site - Not the date of original registration of the domain, but rather the launch of indexable content seen by the search engines (note that this can change if a domain switches ownership) 13. Topical Relevance of Inbound Links to Site - The subject-specific relationship between the sites/pages linking to the target page and the target keyword 14. Link Popularity of Site in Topical Community - The link weight/authority of the target website amongst its topical peers in the online world 15. Rate of New Inbound Links to Site - The frequency and timing of external sites linking in to the given domain Inbound Link Attribute These pieces affect Google's weighting of links from external websites pointing to a page and ultimately will assist in the ranking of that page. 16. Anchor Text of Inbound Link 17. Global Link Popularity of Linking Site 18. Topical Relationship of Linking Page 19. Link Popularity of Site in Topical Community - The link weight/authority of the target website amongst its topical peers in the online world 20. Age of Link Negative Crawling/Ranking Attributes There are also some points we should make before you start getting your hands dirty. With any type of SEO marketing, there are some things that can actually have a negative impact on your ranking. These following components may negatively affect a spider's ability to crawl a page or its rankings at Google. * Server is Often Inaccessible to Bots It's now time to get busy! Start prioritising your tasks, modifying your content and building your internal and external links to meet some of the above guidelines. Keep in mind that improving indexing is mostly a technical task, improving ranking is mostly a business/marketing strategy, what might work now may not work in the future and finally, it takes time. Loads of time. Still, with a bit of trial and error and a good dose of persistence, you can achieve the search engine ranking you're after.
* Content Very Similar or Duplicate of Existing Content in the Index
* External Links to Low Quality/Spam Sites
* Duplicate Title/Meta Tags on Many Pages
* Overuse of Targeted Keywords (Stuffing/Spamming)

SEO Color Scale: White, Gray, Black
Anyone who is familiar with search engine optimization has heard the terms, “white hat” and “black hat” in reference to SEO practices. Discussion abounds when we attempt to draw a line in the sand between what is considered “white hat” and what is considered “black hat.” There are those that claim that any type of website optimization is considered cheating. There are also those who are willing to do anything to get ahead, regardless of the consequences later down the line. So when does website optimization turn from white to black? Is there a gray area, and if so, how big is it? Below I will discuss two areas of website optimization and the differences between white and black hat in both of them. Website Content Anyone who has spent any sort of time in website optimization knows that including keywords in your content is one of the best ways to get a ranking for that term. Including the correct amount of keywords is called optimization, adding too many keywords is called spam. Is there a magic number/percentage? Many SEO experts say, as long as your content is readable, then it isn’t spam, other experts say that a keyword density anywhere between 8-15% is optimal. This area is probably the most heavily discussed of all the optimization methods in terms of white hat and black hat. In fact, much of what is called “content enrichment” has been put under the label of “gray hat.” This involves items that are legitimate optimization techniques but are generally abused. For example, including the keyword “computer parts” in your content is essential to your site if you want to rank for that term. Due to the millions of potential competitors for that term, the word might need to appear on your page a little more than normal in order for that page to be fully optimized. This practice is abused by those who use the keyword so many times that the article ceases to become informative and becomes more of a page geared towards the select .001% of the world’s population who actually gains pleasure out of reading the same phrase over and over again. It is no secret that the search engines love content. In their eyes, the more content, the better chance that some of it contains information that users are searching for. However, the search engines are not dumb; they know which side their bread is buttered on. If a search engine stops providing meaningful results and turns first page rankings into what boils down to a “keyword race”, the search engine loses credibility and eventually, revenue. Therefore, it is in the search engine’s best interest to keep spammed content out of the top results. Linking Another important aspect of website optimization is your linking campaign. A well structured linking campaign can lead to significant increases in your search engine rankings. Many webmasters see the value in linking and use devious methods of achieving them. Google has made it very clear that anyone caught paying for links will receive a penalty. So what does this mean? How can Google tell if a link has been paid for? The truth is, they probably can’t. However, if they see that it is because of massive number of links pointing to your site, a red flag immediately goes up. If they see that a decent number of links pointing to your site are from “link farms” or completely unrelated sites, you will undoubtedly be penalized. In an ideal, white hat, world, everyone would understand the value of linking and there would be almost nothing but reciprocal links, or genuine one way links. The truth is, we have all paid for a link, whether it is to a blog, or to another site. The nature of the linking business just works that way. However, if you want to avoid a Search Engine penalty, take great care to make sure that the links pointing to your site are at least somewhat related to your industry, services or products. The difference between white and black hat when it comes to linking, might not necessarily lie in the method of procuring links, but in the number of links acquired and the relevancy of those links. As an SEO specialist, I would much rather have one link pointing to my site from a reputable, related site than 100 links to my site from questionable domains. Now it’s Time to Choose a Side! There is always some risk involved when optimizing a website. Methods that increase rankings today can be just as easily lost with a simple twist on the algorithm dial by any of the major search engines. The simple truth is that sites that resort to black hat SEO tactics generally need to do so because the content on their site is not meaningful enough to achieve a first page ranking any other way. I am not here to sit on my cloud of judgment and hand down life lessons to all of you sinners out there, but take a good look at your SEO practices. I have seen SEO companies use black hat methods to help a client achieve number 1 rankings and then laugh all the way to the bank once the search engines change their algorithm and the client suddenly finds themselves out of the top 50, or even worse, banned from the search engines. There are many Search Engine Optimization companies out there who have proven that white hat methods work. They have been able to distinguish the borders of the gray area and stay comfortably away from less than reputable methods of achieving high rankings because their client’s long term success is very important to them.

55 Quick SEO Tips Even Your Mother Would Love (2) - Ten Bonus Tips Added
- 56. Use Google Alerts to be alerted about back links - http://www.google.com/alerts. Add link:www.yourdomain.com to the Search Terms box to get notified by email when someone links to you.
57. Optimize your press releases just as you would a web page. Use your keywords, keyword anchor text and headlines in a way that will maximize your visibility without being spammy. In addition to possible pickup by major news sites, these releases are archived on the web. And, remember, don’t put out press releases to sites like PRWeb unless you have REAL news to share.
58. Move JavaScript and CSS to external files whenever possible. This will make your code tighter, move your content up higher, the page will load faster and the spiders will have fewer possible roadblocks in their quest to devour all that good content you wrote .
59. Build pages around phrases like Where can I or How can I because there are a TON of searches for variations of these. Just search for one of these phrases using the free WordTracker Keyword Suggestion Tool and you’ll see what I mean.
60. If you write articles for distribution to article sites for mass distribution (a great way to get back links), be sure to publish the article on your own site first and give the spiders a chance to crawl it. That identifies you as the originator of the content. Then push the article out for distribution across the web, making sure you have a link back to your site in the article content.
61. Tweak and test. Make one change at a time and evaluate what effect it had on your ranking, if any. Changing too many things at once can confuse things to the point where you don’t know which change you made did what.
62. Local search is getting hot! Create a local listing for all locations if you have more than one. Don’t just create a local listing for the main one. Get them all in there! Start with local listings at Google, Yahoo! and Live. Include photos, videos, links, web pages and coupons if available.
63. Don’t try to fake it. Those 50 domains you bought in 1998 with dummy content all linking back to your main site might have made you #1 last decade, but now they can get you booted from the rankings altogether. The “mini-net” is dead.
64. Want to see what Google has indexed from your domain (or any domain for that matter) during, say, the past seven days? Just point your brower to http://www.google.com/search? q=site:yourdomain.com&as_qdr=d7 .
Simply change the “yourdomain.com” to your actual domain name and alter the “=d7? to be whatever number of days you are looking for (d5, d10, etc.). Or, change the “d” to “w” for weeks or “y” for years.
65. Test domains should be invisible. It you are using a domain simply for testing new designs, functions, etc., be sure it is not accessible to spiders or users, who will both be confused about which domain is the real thing. If the spiders can get to it, you could be in for big duplicate content issues. A simple way to block all spiders is with the robots.txt file.

55 Quick SEO Tips Even Your Mother Would Love
Everyone loves a good tip, right? Here are 55 quick tips for search engine optimization that even your mother could use to get cooking. Well, not my mother, but you get my point. Most folks with some web design and beginner SEO knowledge should be able to take these to the bank without any problem.
1. If you absolutely MUST use Java script drop down menus, image maps or image links, be sure to put text links somewhere on the page for the spiders to follow.
2. Content is king, so be sure to have good, well-written and unique content that will focus on your primary keyword or keyword phrase.
3. If content is king, then links are queen. Build a network of quality backlinks using your keyword phrase as the link. Remember, if there is no good, logical reason for that site to link to you, you don’t want the link.
4. Don’t be obsessed with PageRank. It is just one isty bitsy part of the ranking algorithm. A site with lower PR can actually outrank one with a higher PR.
5. Be sure you have a unique, keyword focused Title tag on every page of your site. And, if you MUST have the name of your company in it, put it at the end. Unless you are a major brand name that is a household name, your business name will probably get few searches.
6. Fresh content can help improve your rankings. Add new, useful content to your pages on a regular basis. Content freshness adds relevancy to your site in the eyes of the search engines.
7. Be sure links to your site and within your site use your keyword phrase. In other words, if your target is “blue widgets” then link to “blue widgets” instead of a “Click here” link.
8. Focus on search phrases, not single keywords, and put your location in your text (“our Palm Springs store” not “our store”) to help you get found in local searches.
9. Don’t design your web site without considering SEO. Make sure your web designer understands your expectations for organic SEO. Doing a retrofit on your shiny new Flash-based site after it is built won’t cut it. Spiders can crawl text, not Flash or images.
10. Use keywords and keyword phrases appropriately in text links, image ALT attributes and even your domain name.
11. Check for canonicalization issues - www and non-www domains. Decide which you want to use and 301 redirect the other to it. In other words, if http://www.domain.com is your preference, then http://domain.com should redirect to it.
12. Check the link to your home page throughout your site. Is index.html appended to your domain name? If so, you’re splitting your links. Outside links go to http://www.domain.com and internal links go to http://www.domain.com/index.html.
Ditch the index.html or default.php or whatever the page is and always link back to your domain.
13. Frames, Flash and AJAX all share a common problem - you can’t link to a single page. It’s either all or nothing. Don’t use Frames at all and use Flash and AJAX sparingly for best SEO results.
14. Your URL file extension doesn’t matter. You can use .html, .htm, .asp, .php, etc. and it won’t make a difference as far as your SEO is concerned.
15. Got a new web site you want spidered? Submitting through Google’s regular submission form can take weeks. The quickest way to get your site spidered is by getting a link to it through another quality site.
16. If your site content doesn’t change often, your site needs a blog because search spiders like fresh text. Blog at least three time a week with good, fresh content to feed those little crawlers.
17. When link building, think quality, not quantity. One single, good, authoritative link can do a lot more for you than a dozen poor quality links, which can actually hurt you.
18. Search engines want natural language content. Don’t try to stuff your text with keywords. It won’t work. Search engines look at how many times a term is in your content and if it is abnormally high, will count this against you rather than for you.
19. Not only should your links use keyword anchor text, but the text around the links should also be related to your keywords. In other words, surround the link with descriptive text.
20. If you are on a shared server, do a blacklist check to be sure you’re not on a proxy with a spammer or banned site. Their negative notoriety could affect your own rankings.
21. Be aware that by using services that block domain ownership information when you register a domain, Google might see you as a potential spammer.
22. When optimizing your blog posts, optimize your post title tag independently from your blog title.
23. The bottom line in SEO is Text, Links, Popularity and Reputation.
24. Make sure your site is easy to use. This can influence your link building ability and popularity and, thus, your ranking.
25. Give link love, Get link love. Don’t be stingy with linking out. That will encourage others to link to you.
26. Search engines like unique content that is also quality content. There can be a difference between unique content and quality content. Make sure your content is both.
27. If you absolutely MUST have your main page as a splash page that is all Flash or one big image, place text and navigation links below the fold.
28. Some of your most valuable links might not appear in web sites at all but be in the form of e-mail communications such as newletters and zines.
29. You get NOTHING from paid links except a few clicks unless the links are embedded in body text and NOT obvious sponsored links.
30. Links from .edu domains are given nice weight by the search engines. Run a search for possible non-profit .edu sites that are looking for sponsors.
31. Give them something to talk about. Linkbaiting is simply good content.
32. Give each page a focus on a single keyword phrase. Don’t try to optimize the page for several keywords at once.
33. SEO is useless if you have a weak or non-existent call to action. Make sure your call to action is clear and present.
34. SEO is not a one-shot process. The search landscape changes daily, so expect to work on your optimization daily.
35. Cater to influential bloggers and authority sites who might link to you, your images, videos, podcasts, etc. or ask to reprint your content.
36. Get the owner or CEO blogging. It’s priceless! CEO influence on a blog is incredible as this is the VOICE of the company. Response from the owner to reader comments will cause your credibility to skyrocket!
37. Optimize the text in your RSS feed just like you should with your posts and web pages. Use descriptive, keyword rich text in your title and description.
38. Use captions with your images. As with newspaper photos, place keyword rich captions with your images.
39. Pay attention to the context surrounding your images. Images can rank based on text that surrounds them on the page. Pay attention to keyword text, headings, etc.
40. You’re better off letting your site pages be found naturally by the crawler. Good global navigation and linking will serve you much better than relying only on an XML Sitemap.
41. There are two ways to NOT see Google’s Personalized Search results:
(1) Log out of Google
(2) Append &pws=0 to the end of your search URL in the search bar
42. Links (especially deep links) from a high PageRank site are golden. High PR indicates high trust, so the back links will carry more weight.
43. Use absolute links. Not only will it make your on-site link navigation less prone to problems (like links to and from https pages), but if someone scrapes your content, you’ll get backlink juice out of it.
44. See if your hosting company offers “Sticky” forwarding when moving to a new domain. This allows temporary forwarding to the new domain from the old, retaining the new URL in the address bar so that users can gradually get used to the new URL.
45. Understand social marketing. It IS part of SEO. The more you understand about sites like Digg, Yelp, del.icio.us, Facebook, etc., the better you will be able to compete in search.
46. To get the best chance for your videos to be found by the crawlers, create a video sitemap and list it in your Google Webmaster Central account.
47. Videos that show up in Google blended search results don’t just come from YouTube. Be sure to submit your videos to other quality video sites like Metacafe, AOL, MSN and Yahoo to name a few.
48. Surround video content on your pages with keyword rich text. The search engines look at surrounding content to define the usefulness of the video for the query.
49. Use the words “image” or “picture” in your photo ALT descriptions and captions. A lot of searches are for a keyword plus one of those words.
50. Enable “Enhanced image search” in your Google Webmaster Central account. Images are a big part of the new blended search results, so allowing Google to find your photos will help your SEO efforts.
51. Add viral components to your web site or blog - reviews, sharing functions, ratings, visitor comments, etc.
52. Broaden your range of services to include video, podcasts, news, social content and so forth. SEO is not about 10 blue links anymore.
53. When considering a link purchase or exchange, check the cache date of the page where your link will be located in Google. Search for “cache:URL” where you substitute “URL” for the actual page. The newer the cache date the better. If the page isn’t there or the cache date is more than an month old, the page isn’t worth much.
54. If you have pages on your site that are very similar (you are concerned about duplicate content issues) and you want to be sure the correct one is included in the search engines, place the URL of your preferred page in your sitemaps.
55. Check your server headers. Search for “check server header” to find free online tools for this. You want to be sure your URLs report a “200 OK” status or “301 Moved Permanently ” for redirects. If the status shows anything else, check to be sure your URLs are set up properly and used consistently throughout your site.

One Page, One Subject
Every page on your website should have one topic or subject. Let’s say you have a website about clothing accessories, one page should be devoted to belts, another to buttons and maybe another page is dedicated to scarves. Each page should be optimized with its own keywords. Your pages should have a distinct subject or product.
In short, one subject per page. You may ask why? It’s because search engines read and index each and every page of your site individually, not your website as a whole. Search engine results page (SERPS) also give you a specific page that is not necessarily your home page.
Try typing a keyword in Google Search, the result will most likely be a mixture of homepages and individual pages inside subdirectories of websites that is relevant to the keyword searched. You have to optimize each of your pages for a keyword and one keyword only. So that each of your individual pages will get into the SERPS -not only your index or homepage.
Aside from focusing on the body text on your page, make sure that your Meta Tags are also individually unique. The most important of all the Meta Tags is the Title Tag. Search engines give the most weight to your title. It is also what the engines use on the SERPS. If you don’t have a Title Tag, the first line of text on your page will most likely be used by the search engines as your title. And you wouldn’t want that, do you? Second is your Keywords Tag - don’t use the same keywords in every page of your website. The same goes with the Description Tag. You may have read many times that the Meta Tags are obsolete. But the truth is many directories and search engines still use the Meta Tags and all the major search engines still use the Title Tag. It take little effort to create Meta Tags, so don't waste one of the easiest ways to optimize your website for the search engines.
You may ask: So what if individual pages get into the SERPS? It’s because the more pages of your website gets into the SERPS, the more visitors you will likely get. And that only means one thing: More income for you.

5 Steps to increase Website Ranking
5 Steps to increase Website Ranking
If you need to improve your internet home based business website ranking, have a look at your web pages.
By doing basic SEO work you will be able to improve the way the major SE see your internet home based business WebPages.Because you have no control over your competitors sites you have only two ways of influencing your rankings, and they are:
Your Content
Website Links
Use these 5 steps to Improve the content.
Step 1- Keyword Phrases.
Rather than focusing on a single word, try adding a few words to make a keyword phrase.
If you were searching for your own internet home based business website, what keyword phrase would you type into Google for each page?
Would you look for “home based business” or would you look for “home based internet business ideas” .
Stick to one subject per page, if you have multiple pages , try to stick to one keyword phrase per page.
Step 2 - Keyword Density.
One of the things Google looks for when it catalogs your internet home based business web pages is the density of the keyword usage.
In other words, how often the keyword occurs.
Always use natural phrasing.
Give a strong opening paragraph to your internet home based business web page.
Google may or may not search beyond the first 200 words or so of your web site, but it definitely looks at the first paragraph for keyword density.
It is generally regarded that 5 to 10 keywords per 100 words is acceptable. If you repeat it too often then the search engines might think you are spamming and your page is downgraded or even banned.
So start low and you can always tweak it upwards later.
Step 3 - Heading Tags
Text within the heading tags H1-H6 are given extra weighing by search engines. Therefore it is important to use this tags and not simply use a larger font size.
The headline tags function just like headlines in newspapers and they draw the reader and the search engines.
The Opening HeadlineThe opening headline should sum up the contents of the web page.
It should be designed to attract both the reader and the search engines and consist of your keywords/keyword phrases.
The Headline tag should ideally be less than 40 characters (64 max).
Short punchy headlines are generally better. The H2 tag is commonly used because most people find the H1 tag too large. The opening headline tag is followed by some body text which should contain your keywords/keyword phrases. Your keyword should be in the opening sentence and once more in the first 500 characters (roughly 6 lines) or opening paragraph.Other headline Tags H3-H6These tags are used for emphasis and again should contain your keywords or some variation of it. These are ideally used for secondary keywords. Again the body text following the headline should contain your keyword at least once.
Step 4 - Name Your Pages.
It is vital to give your pages a descriptive name with the title tag.
Google displays search results as a link using the web page’s title. When appropriate, use the page’s keyword phrase in the title.
Step 5 - Improve your Your Graphics.
If your menus are in Flash, they might as well be invisible, search engines tend to skip right over it.
Consider making plain text links in addition to or instead of Flash.
Give your images alt tags. Not only does it make your website more accessible to the visually impaired, it also gives you another chance to place your keywords where Google can see them.
Conclusion
So as you can see, by doing slight tweaking to the content to your web page, this will improve how the SE see your internet home based business web page.
In the end, strong, well organized pages are pages that Google tends to rank higher.
They're also pages that tend to become more popular, which means Google will rank them even higher.

Back to basic and most of webmaster already known about these but I am quite sure that more than 70% of them are not follow these two things.
I will try to apply both of them to my blogs and Stores.

The Two Most Important SEO Techniques
Marketing your website and business on the Internet can be a chore and a really difficult task! The organic search results in search engines like Google are the golden egg of marketing. Getting listed high in Google guarantees lots of website visitors and that means lots of business!
Of course the story is not so easy, and everyone is vying for top spot.
Search engine optimization or SEO is the practice of optimizing your website to help it rank better.
In actual fact there are onsite and offsite factors that play a part in this.
Here I will reveal two of the most important things that you can do to help your website rankings.
There are HTML tags that you can use on your webpages that can really help with ranking.
If you do two of these then you could be well ahead of the competition.
The first one is the title tag.
It is really important that you use the title tag and place the keywords that you are optimizing for here.
Ensure that you do not just string a load of keywords together but make sure that it reads well. You don’t want to keyword spam! There is another reason for this.
The title often displays as the heading of your webpage in the search results!
The next most important HTML tag is the heading tag, or more specifically, the h1 tag.
This is also somewhere that you should place your keywords that you are targeting.
The h1 tag is basically the Heading of your page.
Search engines like Google places good emphasis on this tag.
In summary, you should ensure that your keywords are placed into the h1 tags.
If you just do these two simple things, then you will be halfway there to finishing your onsite SEO work! There are other stuff that you can do but these two are the most important.
Now, did you know that not all of your competitors are doing this? You can use special software to literally spy on your top competitors to see how they are optimizing their websites.

Search Engine Optimization Tutorial Part 2 - Optimizing Every Page of Your Site
by Cheow Yu Yuan
When you optimize a page, it is important to match your Title and Meta tagging with the content of the page. For example, if you have a page which lists the services that you sell, you should place the most important and related keywords in the Title, Meta, H1, and H2 tags of the page. If the page consists of images, you should also place your keywords in the ALT tags too.
Within your content, there should be a nice mix of repetition for the keyword that you wish to optimize. However, make sure that you do not overdo it. By repeating the keyword too many times within a page, search engines may think that you are a spammer and that may hurt your ranking.
To optimize every page of your site, planning need to be done. Before you build your website, you should have a very clear picture of the sitemap of your site. Sitemap gives you a good understanding of how each page is link to one another, and what are the content on each of the page. With a good sitemap, you will be able to know what keyword to optimize for every page of your site.
Before you choose any keyword to optimize, you should always do a research first. Find out what are some of the popular keywords that your competitors are optimizing. If you run an Adwords campaign before for your website, you can also get some ideas on the popular keywords that searchers are typing to find your website from your Adwords campaign. Choose keywords that have high search volume and optimize them accordingly on the different pages of your site.
Once you have placed the necessary keywords on every page of your site, it is time to increase the link popularity of each page so as to obtain optimal ranking for your keywords. You should create separate keyword-rich anchor text and point them to the respective pages that you are optimizing. For example, you should point an anchor text with the keyword “SEO service†to a SEO page and an anchor text with the keyword “PPC service†to a PPC page. This will help build quality backlinks for each of the pages.
Optimizing every page of your site is definitely a great SEO practice as you will not be able to know which page or pages will be ranked by search engines. Every page is a potential entry point for your visitors. You will not want to miss out on the opportunity to get visitors, don’t you?

SEO Tips: On-Page Optimization
On-page optimization is often forgotten these days, as we focus more and more of our time in getting inbound links with targeted anchor text.
On-page optimization, however, is something you can do quickly to give yourself an extra boost in the SERPS (http://www.internet-search-engines-faq.com/serps.shtml).
These tips will help you to optimize your web pages to make the most out of your inbound links (http://www.internet-search-engines-faq.com/ibl-obl.shtml).
One Page - One Target
Each page should be optimized for only one search term. If you are targeting two search terms, make pages for each term.
If your search term has a synonym, make separate pages for each synonym. For example, if you are targeting “drywall” and “sheetrock”, make separate pages to target each term.
One Target - Two Pages
The preceding tip only tells half of the story. You don’t actually want to be #1 in the SERPS for each of your search terms — you want to be #1 and #2.
Google and some other search engines will display two listings from a web site together if both are relevant to the users search. Therefore, for each of your important keywords, you want to build two web pages which are both optimized for that search.
The URL
Search engines tend to rank pages well when the URL contains the search term.
If your page is about drywall, call your page drywall.html, not page-1.html.
If your content management system (CMS) uses autogenerated URL’s, use 301 Redirects to turn those URL’s into highly optimized URL’s.
Use Hyphens, not Underscores
Google and most other search engines treat hyphens as spaces, but do not treat underscores as spaces.
If your URL is clint-eastwood.html, your page will rank well if someone searches for “clint eastwood”.
If your URL is clint_eastwood.html, your page will rank well if someone searches for “clint_eastwood”.
Which do you think is searched for more often, “clint eastwood” or “clint_eastwood”?
Optimize the Page Title
The page title should contain the keywords for which you are optimizing, and little or nothing else.
Many sites prepend the site name to every page title, like this:
Smith Drywall — Sheetrock Delivery
A more optimized title would simply look like this:
Sheetrock Delivery
Leave the company name for the title of the main page of your web site.
Optimize the Description Tag
Not many search engines utilize the description tag anymore, but it’s best to set it properly just in case.
Optimize the Keywords Tag
Even fewer search engines utilize the keywords tag, but it’s best to set it properly just in case.
Use Headings
Use the , , and heading tags to define your important content sections, and put your keywords at least once in each heading style.
Use CSS to set the fonts and sizes of the h-tags to something pleasing to your visitors.
Add a Linked Image with ALT Text
Use an image of your page with a filename which contains your chosen keywords, such as drywall-delivery.jpg.
The ALT text for this image should include the keywords for which you are optimizing.
Google is sneaky, in that it only counts the ALT text on linked images. We’re sneakier, so we link the image to the page upon which it is displayed.
Validate the HTML
Use the W3C HTML validator to validate the HTML of your page.
Very few HTML errors will cause a web page not to rank well in the SERPS, but you don’t want your page to be that page.
In addition, validating the HTML will help to ensure that your page will look reasonably well in the wide variety of web browsers used on the Internet.
Keep Your Body Text Readable
Use your keywords in the body text, but keep your body text readable.
Don’t drywall stuff drywall your drywall keywords drywall into your drywall text until it is unreadable by humans.
Make Reasonably Sized Pages
The search engines seem to prefer pages which have at least 500 words of text. Give your visitors something to read!
Summary
If you follow these simple tips, you will get better SERPS with fewer inbound links.
On-page search engine optimization is the first step towards achieving good search engine rankings.
